Can I sneak this idea in before the last of the summer peaches disappear? Hope so. It’s a lovely, lovely dessert for a late August evening.
Simply pre-heat oven to 180 oC. Cut each peach in half (one per person) and take out the stone. Crumble an ameretti biscuit into each half of the peach, add a sliver of unsalted butter to the top and sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and pour a teaspoon of brandy over each peach. Bake for 10 mins more.

Yum yum, looks delicious. I do love a peach!
Looks good – I’m going to give them a go. One quick question – what would you serve them with? Or just as they are?
Oh my stars! These peaches are making my mouth water.
Domestikate – As do I. 🙂
John – I eat them on their own. Cream isn’t right. Ice-cream? I don’t know… If you try it, let me know!
Ozarkhomesteader – I can’t look at a peach without drooling. 🙂
i love simple and delicious food like this. Thanks 🙂
Lovely sounding, easy recipe. I live in Australia so my nectarine tree is currently just starting to bud and the nectarines won’t be ready to eat until after Christmas. But i have filed your recipe away and will be sure to try it! Thank you
there is always next year – that is what I say each year when I still haven’t tried baking peaches in this way – maybe this will help inspire me – sounds like a wonderful summer evening meal
oh yum! i would definitely serve them with whipped cream though (as that goes with everything, kind of:)
Wendy,
Brilliant! We have a box of the biscuits that we received as a gift that I wasn’t sure what to do with (we aren’t used to them). But, we love peaches and live close to the Okanagan in BC (orchard area). This is the perfect solution. Many, many thanks…my mouth is watering already!
They look delicious but Wendy, HALF A PEACH PER PERSON?!
Lisa – You’re welcome!
Bee – A nectarine tree? Ooooh, how I wish that were possible here.
Johanna – Do try it. Suspect you’d like it!
Pia – I’m a big whipped cream fan too but I’m just not sure about it with this… If you try it, let me know!
Shine – Hello! i never know what to do with the biscuits either. This is perfect.
Helen – Ha! No. That was me being a muppet and getting “half” and “halve” mixed up. (cough – English teacher??- cough). A whole peach, please. I ate two.
I had these at a friend’s house years ago and had forgotten how she made them. Thanks for the reminder – they’re melt in the mouth gorgeous
These look so good. I have some plums hanging on a tree in our new garden and think it might work well with them too. I may well give it a try!
I don’t know ameretti biscuit? Where can I buy that? This recipe sounds like a great natural dessert I would love to try. Thank you for sharing.
