This is the first time I’ve seen frog spawn in aaaaagggggeeeeess. Used to see it all the time when I was a kid. Do you reckon this is because there’s less of it about? Or because I spend less time prodding ponds with sticks these days?
In my little pond we have frog spawn every year. One day I’ll go and feed the fish and you see it all over the pond. I have even seen little frogs in the edge of my pond at night time taking a dip lol
Mallika – I very recently bought a new camera. It’s a bridging camera which is half way between a point and shoot and an SLR. A Panasonic DMC FZ18 to be precise.
Johanna – It is. I can’t look at it for long without my eyes going funny. And I will do the tag very soon.
Lucy – Found the spawn in a marsh area near my house. Going back each week to see the dots of the tadpoles getting bigger. Why isn’t this stuff on the news every night? “Tadpole GROWS legs!!!”
Aforkfullofspaghetti – Ha ha ha ha! Wonder what it tastes like…
Annemarie – It’s very cool stuff. And there’s so much of it. Where on earth do all those frogs go?

That is a fabulous pic, Wendy.
Rosie – Aww… Wish I had a pond with frogs in it. 🙂
Susan – Thank you very much. 🙂
Beautiful pictures Wendy. Do you use a professional camera?
Great pics. I imagine your second picture is the view up from the spawn.
I have tagged you for a six word memoir if you are interested – no stress if you aren’t – if you are, check it out at http://gggiraffe.blogspot.com/2008/04/long-winded-nut-roast-post.html
Poke and prod away more often, I say.
Lovely. Just lovely.
Ah, the joys of frog spawn. Don’t think I’ve seen any since primary school days… You gonna come up with a recipe for it?? 😉
Similarly, can’t remember when I last saw frog spawn. Must clearly do more prodding… Those were the days!
I am wondering where our frogs here in Key West spawn. We have no ponds!
Love photos of nature!

Deb – And you have frogs?
