Corner on the Square, Beauly

On a lazy Sunday morning (the rarest of things recently) one of my favourite things to do is to head over to Beauly and have breakfast or lunch in the lovely Corner on the Square.

A cafe and deli, Corner on the Square is bright and cheerful  and chocablock full of nice things to eat right there or take home. I love the Goats cheese on toast and the cooked breakfasts especially but the specials are always rather, umm, special too.

  1. It looks a lovely spot to enjoy a lazy weekend morning , lucky you !
I’d have to have the Fish Chowder ( and definitely the large bowlful ) and take a loaf home for later …..

    • “A meal without wine is like a day without sunshine” is the full quotation and has been up there since we opened in 2004. It is a attributed to Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin, a 19th Century French gastronome but to be honest we did not know that at the time. We had heard it and written it down for use along with our other slogans. Hope that helped!

      • Absolutely fantastic, I can’t believe you took the time to respond after all that time! It took me a minute to remember this whole thing but I’m glad that I know the rest of the quote now, and I couldn’t agree more. Incidentally we’ve had quite a lot of days without sunshine recently so I guess I’ll just have to make up for that with extra wine. Thanks very much for the comment!

  2. On your recommendation I went there yesterday and was rewarded with the most wonderful quiche and salad it is possible to find. Treasurehouse of goodies, and since the closure of Taste of Scotland (aka House of Beauly) was a shock I hadn’t heard about as I only manage to come up here on holiday occasionally, it is a glorious find, all thanks to you and your blog. I love reading it and look forward to each installment.
